Aliens Predator:

PART THREE OF FOUR



[PEN WALL]



Noguchi watches the second Alien fall to the shoulder gun of the Predator.  The shoulder gun deactivates as the Predator reaches behind he back.  He pulls a double-ended spear from its holster on his back and displays it to Noguchi briefly.  Noguchi turns to see an Alien directly in front of her.  The Alien reaches out to grab her head as the first set of jaws opens to allow the second set to emerge.  Before it can get a hold on her, the Predator leaps into the air.  The Predator lands on the back end of the Alien's head, causing it to fall back down the slope.  The Predator bounces off the Alien before it tumbles and lands in the middle of the group of Aliens at the bottom of the pen wall.



[PEN WALL - OVER NOGUCHI'S SHOULDER]



Noguchi watches for a moment as the Predator dispatches the Aliens with quick, short strokes.  The Predator is using the double-ended spear, his forearm blades, and shoulder cannon, all at almost the same time on three different targets.  The Aliens between Noguchi and the Predator have fallen, but more keep coming down the loading ramp.  The Predator is practiced in his moves, but has picked a bad fight.



[ABOVE PEN WALL]



Noguchi climbs on top of the pen wall as the Predator is forced by the numbers to become more defensive.  When she reaches the top, she looks back.  An Alien has a hold of the spear.  The Predator looks at the spear and tugs.  An Alien pounces from the other side and pierces the Predator's leg with its tail.  Yet another Alien lands on the Predators chest and rips the Predator's mask off.  Noguchi starts to run along the top of the wall.  Camera moves to track with Noguchi as she accelerates.  The battle, now in the distance, is quickly a mass of Aliens.  The Predator howls in pain.  Noguchi doesn't look back, but continues running.



[LECTOR - CARGO BAY 2]



The dark bay seems bigger, as a major portion of the mass in the walls has left.  Tom begins to struggle against the resin wall again.



	Tom "Scott!  Scott, wake up!  I think...(unhh) I can get my arm free..."



With a cracking sound, Tom drops to the floor.  Scott begins to wake up and sees Tom free.



	Scott "Hurry up!  Get me out of this!"



Tom and Scott struggle to get Scott free.  Scott is buried further in the wall than Tom was, and both men are tired, but they are making progress.



	Scott "Hurry!"



	Tom (whispering) "Quiet, I've almost got it."



Scott falls to the floor.  He coughs a little as he stands up and looks around.



	Scott "Jesus, where'd they all go?"



	Tom "I dunno.  One minute they were all around us, the next they swarmed out like angry bees.  Anyway who cares?  Lets get out of here!  Lets use the emergency hatch!"



The two, supporting each other, cross the hive chamber, directly in front of the Queen.  Her limbs are folded, her jaws are retracted, and her breathing is shallow.



	Scott "What about that one?"



	Tom "Her, she's asleep... I think."



[CARGO BAY 2 - CLOSEUP ON QUEEN'S JAWS]



The Queen's breathing begins to deepen as her jaws start to drop out of their sheath.



	Tom (offscreen) "Let's go, before she wakes up!"



[PROSPERITY WELLS - RHYNTH PENS - OVERHEAD]



Noguchi is running down between pens.  Rhynth are impatiently pushing on the walls and each other.  She slows as gunshots are heard nearby.



	Noguchi (into headset) "Hiroki, this is Machiko!  Do you read?  Hiroki!"



[HEADQUARTERS BUILDING - INSIDE WEST LOCK]



Shimura and a few other men are moving crates.  Most of them keep their hand-guns pointing at the outer doors.  A pair of men are trying to weld the doors shut as quickly as they can.  The doors shudder every so often with a deep, resonating boom.  A female staff member ties a tourniquet above the wound on another staff member's leg.



	Noguchi (over radio) "Come in, please!"



Shimura steps into view, checking the welder's progress, gun ready.



	Shimura "I read you Machiko, where are you?"



	Noguchi (over radio) "I'm approaching the south lock.  Listen, we're in _real_ trouble.  You're not going to believe what we're up against."



[WEST LOCK INTERIOR - CLOSE UP ON SHIMURA]



Shimura is breathing heavily and sweating profusely.  He holds the headset to his head to try to muffle the sounds of the welders.



	Shimura "At this point, I'd believe anything!  Machiko... take care of yourself."



	Noguchi (over radio) "Hiroki, what are you...?"



	Shimura "We're welding the outer and inner doors of the west lock shut.  We'll hold them off as long as possible.  I just wish we could see what we were shooting at.  We'll give you a chance to get everyone on the Lector."



[RHYNTH PENS - NEAR HEADQUARTERS BUILDING SOUTH LOCK]



Noguchi is jogging, almost to the end of the last set of pens.  Gunfire can still be heard echoing through the streets.



	Noguchi "Hiroki, NO!  There's got to be another way... besides the Lector's....."



As Noguchi clears the pens, she sees a body around the corner.  It is a man, face down, missing an arm, in a pool of blood.  His scatter-rifle sits unused beside him.  Noguchi kneels down to the body.



	Noguchi "Riley?"



The sounds begin to add up.  The gunfire echoes.  Noguchi's heart is pounding in her ears as she touches Riley's body.  Shimura is asking her to repeat her last message.  A faint clicking, like the intake of a breath, is barely audible above the din.  Noguchi freezes.  Her eyes shift to her side without moving her head.  A footstep is heard from directly behind her, and then another breath.  Still keeping her head still, Noguchi looks to the gun on the opposite side of Riley's body.  Another footstep behind her is heard.  Suddenly, Noguchi somersaults over Riley's body, grabbing the gun as a translucent silhouette drives a spear into the ground where Noguchi was standing.  Noguchi finishes the roll and sits up, bringing the gun to bear on a figure she can barely see the outline of.  She hesitates as she realizes the effectiveness of the Predator's camouflage.  Both of them are caught surprised as two Aliens simultaneously pounce on the Predator from above.  The Aliens, having no eyes, are not fooled by the Predator's invisibility.  Noguchi pivots and sprints away as the Predator struggles for his life.



[HEADQUARTERS BUILDING - SOUTH LOCK INTERIOR]



A group of ranchers and company staff hold batons and shock-sticks nervously as a figure approaches outside.



	Rancher "Get ready!  Somthin's coming!"



	Staff member "Wait, it's Ms. Noguchi!"



Someone opens the door as Noguchi runs into the south lock.  She stops and pauses for a moment to catch her breath.



	Staff member "Did you see them?  How many do you think are out there?



	Noguchi "Too many.  Fall back to the inner doors and get someone with a welding torch over here.  Seal _all_ of the doors - upper level too - except for the east lock.  No one goes in or out without authorization."



Noguchi steps into the middle of the room and hands a rancher her hand-gun.



	Noguchi "Load this for me, and get me some extra clips for it."



	Rancher "Will three extra clips be enough?"



	Noguchi "Make it five... no, ten.  And seal those doors!"



Noguchi exits towards operations.



[HEADQUARTERS BUILDING - OPERATIONS ROOM]



Noguchi walks into view as Downey and Weaver man the main console.



	Noguchi "Downey, do you have that sat-link hooked up yet?"



	Downey "'Little' Cygni's still interfering."



	Noguchi "What do you have on the cameras, Weaver?  Can you get me a fix on Hiroki and his team?"



Weaver already has Hiroki's team on her monitor.  She looks up at Noguchi, tears in her eyes, and says nothing.  Noguchi adjusts her headset.



	Noguchi "Hiroki!  Hiroki!  This is Machiko, do you read?"



The picture has some static, and the audio feed cuts in and out.



	Shimura (over comlink) "Ma...iko? (bzzt).. ou in ops?  Johnson, _GET_DOWN_!"



	Noguchi "Hiroki, listen!  Tell your team to stand by.  We're going to open the doors and pull you in!"



	Shimura (over comlink) "No time, anyway (bzzt)..ere's no team left.  Just ...nson and me.  I don't think we hit any of...(bzzt)....ammo's gone."



[OPERATIONS ROOM - IMAGE OF WEST LOCK]



Shimura stands amongst a number of bodies.  Johnson stands beside him.  Shimura wields a long pipe, and Johnson readies a welding torch.  A couple of booming sounds can be made out, as well as some metallic crunching.  Shimura takes a deep breath.



	Shimura (over comlink) "Stay safe, Machi....(bzzt)"



Two translucent silhouettes quickly overcome Shimura and Johnson.  The silhouettes disappear out of view almost before the two bodies hit the ground.  The camera image goes black, the connection lost.



[HEADQUARTERS BUILDING - MANAGEMENT QUARTERS]



Noguchi sits on the side of her bed, one hand on her forehead.  Her eyes are closed.  A whimper escapes, and she shudders a bit, tears streaming down.  She begins labored breathing, struggling to maintain some semblance of control over each breath.



	Weaver (over comlink) "Ms. Noguchi?  This is Weaver.  I....I know you and Mr. Shimura were friends.  I didn't want to interrupt you..."



	Noguchi (deep breath) "What is it, Weaver?"



	Weaver (over comlink) "There's something you should see.  It's from a feed on the southwest side of the tower."



The video on the quarters comlink panel blinks to life.  The first thing visible is a large fire.  Several Predators are dancing around the fire in a primitive, ritualistic manner.  They wave spears around that have heads skewered on them.  Alien heads and human heads.



	Weaver (sadly, over comlink) "It looks like our attackers are having a victory celebration."



Noguchi stares at the screen, takes another deep breath, and answers slowly in a low, even tone.



	Noguchi "I'm wasting time..."



[HEADQUARTERS BUILDING - EAST LOCK]



A number of ranchers, including Ackland and Roth, watch as the rancher Noguchi ordered to load her gun places a full clip on a pile of full clips.



	Rancher "Ten clips!  She's not thinkin' of going out there, is she?"



	Noguchi (offscreen) "You guessed it."



[HEADQUARTERS BUILDING - EAST LOCK - INNER DOORS]



Noguchi steps through the door.  She's wearing her black jumpsuit.  A shotgun is slung over her back.  A kaitana is slung over her hips.  She carries a rhynth-leather backpack over one shoulder.



	Noguchi "Who owns the fastest hover bike?"



Roth steps up as Noguchi grabs a leather vest and puts it on.  She begins to load the pockets of the vest with the loaded clips.



	Roth "I... I guess I do."



	Noguchi "Where's it parked?"



	Roth "Just outside.  Key's in the ignition."



Noguchi accepts her gun as the rancher hands it to her.  Ackland steps up as Noguchi holsters the gun.



	Ackland "That's _it_?  You're taking off?  What about the _rest_ of us?  I thought you were supposed to be _in_charge_?  Where's your sense of _responsibility_?"



Noguchi fumes a moment before landing a round-house kick on the side of Ackland's head.  Ackland nearly does a cartwheel as he hits the floor.  Noguchi steps up to Ackland on the floor and lifts him up by his collar.



	Noguchi "_RESPONSIBILITY_?!  Hiroki is _dead_, and this whole mess is _your_fault_, Ackland.  If we live through this, you're going to find out what happens to people who are _responsible_!"



Noguchi drops Ackland on the floor, and turns to face the group.



	Noguchi "Weaver is in charge until I get back.  You will follow her orders _to_the_letter_!  Do I make myself clear?!"



[HEADQUARTERS BUILDING EXTERIOR - EAST LOCK]



Two men, armed with scatter-rifles, escort Noguchi out the door to a row of hover bikes.



	Guard 1 "The coast is clear, for now."



	Noguchi "Ok, if you haven't gotten my signal in twenty minutes, this door gets welded shut until the marines get here... _if_ they get here."



	Guard 2 "And about you?"



Noguchi steps onto Roth's hover bike.  The wings are the stock white, but the body fairings have been painted a leopard pattern.  A sticker on the front panel states in bold letters "ROTH".



	Noguchi (in a low, even tone) "If you don't get my signal in twenty minutes, it'll be because I'm dead."



The hover bike turbine warms up, and Noguchi lifts off.  The two guards watch her fly down the street and turn the corner before going back inside.



[PROSPERITY WELLS - ON HOVER BIKE]



Noguchi calmly rounds another corner, still accelerating.  As she goes under a crane arm, an Alien drops from the arm and lands on one wing of the hover bike.  Noguchi calmly regards the Alien before twisting the controls.  The hover bike turbine sound increases pitch, and the bike lifts higher off the ground.  A small hoist at the end of a pen wall barely clears the top of the wing, knocking the Alien off and cutting it in half at the same time.  Some of the Alien's blood is spattered on the hover bike wing. A significant hole develops near the trailing edge of the wing.  Noguchi adjusts the controls to maintain level flight.  She turns another corner, and catches sight of a white sign with a red cross as it flashes by.



	Noguchi (to herself) "Dr. Revna, I forgot about her!"



Noguchi turns the hover bike on its side.  The engine whine pitches even higher during the maneuver, and then drops as Noguchi sweeps back and sets the bike down in front of the medical building.



[MEDICAL BUILDING - EXTERIOR OF DOOR]



Noguchi jumps off the bike before the engine finishes shutting down.



	Noguchi (into headset) "Dr. Revna!  It's me, Machiko!"



Noguchi pulls the shotgun from her back.  She slides the handle back, not noticing the three red dots following her hand as she does it.  The three red dots continue to track her hand as she slams her back into the wall beside the door.  She does a quick check of the area before Miriam opens the door.



	Miriam "Machiko!  I heard shooting... is everything all right?"



	Noguchi "No, things are _bad_, and they're about to get _worse_."



Noguchi and Miriam step inside the door.  Three red dots appear on the door as it closes.



[MEDICAL BUILDING - INTERIOR]



	Noguchi "Can you handle a hover bike, Miriam?"



	Miriam "No, I never learned.  I always relied on Kesar"



	Noguchi "No good.  I don't have time to take you back to the tower."



Noguchi thinks for a moment, frowning, before holding the shotgun in front of Miriam.



	Noguchi "Do you know how to use one of these?"



Miriam silently regards the weapon.



	Noguchi "It's a semi-automatic, so it does all the work for you.  Just aim it at whatever threatens you and pull the trigger.  You only have six rounds, don't waste any on warning shots."



	Miriam "Ms. Noguchi, I am not a soldier."



	Noguchi (handing the gun to Miriam) "This isn't war, Miriam, this is survival."



Miriam shudders.



	Miriam "Wh...who might I be shooting at?"



Noguchi coolly regards the patient Predator on the tilted exam table.



	Noguchi "Don't worry....you'll know when the time comes."



Noguchi walks over to the exam table that holds the Predator's equipment.  She shudders a moment as she touches the Alien skull again.  She takes a deep breath, and regains control.  She hefts the skull up for Miriam to see.



	Noguchi "Miriam, the unclassifieds Roth brought you.  Kesar's report said he thought they might transmit eggs or spores to host bodies.  Is it possible that when those eggs grew up, they'd look like this?"



Miriam regards the skull with a small amount of fear.  Even as just a skull, the massive, eyeless head is intimidating.



	Miriam "I don't know.  Why do you ask?"



	Noguchi "Because I've seen some of these things tonight.  There were dozens - maybe _hundreds_ - of them in the Lector."



Noguchi drops the skull on the table with distaste.



	Noguchi "I think Ackland's rhynth were infected, or impregnated, by these things, and they spread it to all of the herds on the ship."



Noguchi turns again to the Predator on the exam table.



	Noguchi "And, I think our two unclassifieds are somehow connected."



Miriam looks at her patient with this new piece of information.



	Miriam "What are you going to do?"



Noguchi heads back towards the door.



	Noguchi "You know rhynth temperament.  I've got three-thousand head that have been crammed into holding pens since last night.  What kind of mood do you think they're in right now?"



Noguchi reaches the door and opens it.



	Noguchi "I'll come back for you if I can, but keep this door locked."



The door closes and the sound of a hover bike turbine warming up can be heard outside.  Miriam steps closer to Broken Tusk.  The sound of the hover bike begins to dissipate in the distance.  Broken Tusk calmly watches Miriam.



	Miriam "I know my Kesar is dead, and perhaps you had something to do with it.  Maybe you had your reasons, but it just seems so wasteful.  We could learn so much from one another..."



An eerily familiar voice is heard from outside.  It sounds much like Noguchi, almost.



	Voice "Dr. Revna!  Its me, Machiko!"



Miriam turns to face the door.  Broken Tusk looks at the door, eyes wide open.



	Voice "Its me, Machiko!"



Miriam walks over to the door as Broken Tusk begins to strain against the exam table straps.



[MEDICAL - EXTERIOR DOOR]



Miriam opens the door and looks outside.



	Miriam "Ms. Noguchi, I..."



She stops as a large shadow looms over her.



[MEDICAL BUILDING - INTERIOR SIDE OF DOOR]



Miriam stumbles back as another Predator throws the door open, breaking the door frame.  Miriam and the new Predator stare at each other for a moment before Miriam turns and sprints for the shotgun that she left on the console.  The new Predator follows, unsheathing his forearm blades.



[MEDICAL BUILDING - INTERIOR]



Miriam grabs the gun and begins to swing it into aim at the new Predator.  Broken Tusk is still straining against the exam table straps.  The new Predator swings his arm back in preparation to strike with his forearm blades.  Miriam shakes with fear as she takes aim.  One of the straps holding Broken Tusk down breaks.



[HOLDING PENS - GATE]



Noguchi is standing beside the hover bike, working on the control panel for the main gate to the holding pen.  The sound of a shotgun being fired makes her turn to the direction of medical.



[MEDICAL BUILDING - INTERIOR]



The new Predator looks down at his arm.  A number of shot-holes have scraped on his armor.  Some have gotten through.  A glowing, green fluid begins to seep out from under the armor.  The new Predator shudders, but refuses to cry out.  The new Predator turns back to Miriam with a new contempt.  Miriam is frozen with fear.  Another strap holding Broken Tusk breaks.  His arm is free, and he reaches for his spear on the next exam table.  The new Predator knocks the shotgun out of Miriam's hands with a swift backhanded swing.  Broken Tusk has a grasp on the blade of his spear with his fingers and begins to pull it closer.  The new Predator continues his backhand swing in preparation to strike with his forearm blades.  The new Predator's arm and Broken Tusk's spear both become blurs.  The two weapons strike each other with a metallic clang, less than a foot over Miriam's head.  The new Predator turns to Broken Tusk, grabbing the spear and tossing it aside.  The new Predator knocks Miriam aside as it pulls back yet again to strike at Broken Tusk.  Both pause at a whistling sound outside that quickly gets louder.  The high pitched whine is rapidly approaching the near wall, but before either Predator can move, Roth's hover bike crashes through.  The new Predator is knocked across the room.  Miriam slides under an exam table.  Broken Tusk's exam table slides up against the exam table that his equipment is on.  Noguchi jumps through the hole in the wall created by the hover bike, makes a quick assessment, and points her sidearm at the new Predator.



	Noguchi "Don't even _think_ about getting up!"



The new Predator looks at Noguchi through his mask and doesn't move.



	Broken Tusk (Noguchi's voice) "You only have six rounds, don't waste any on warning shots."



Noguchi is shaken by Broken Tusk's capabilities, but keeps a bead on the new Predator.  She watches Miriam get up and walk over to Broken Tusk.  Miriam begins to release the remaining straps.



	Noguchi "Miriam!  What are you doing?"



	Miriam "I don't think he means us any harm."



Broken Tusk steps down, picks up his mask from the table of equipment, and begins to fit it back on.



	Noguchi "They _killed_ Hiroki, and six other men!"



Miriam points a thumb to the new Predator.



	Miriam "_They_ did, not him.  I think this one appreciates our help.  When the other one attacked me, he saved my life."



Broken Tusk finishes fitting the mask and steps over to the new Predator.  The new Predator gets up, rubbing the back of his neck.



	Broken Tusk (Noguchi's voice) "What kind of mood do you think they're in right now?"



Before the new Predator can react, Broken Tusk hits him upside the head.  The new Predator's mask flies off as he falls to the ground.  In addition to the sound of the new Predator's armor hitting the floor is a distinctive clunk.  Broken Tusk looks down at the new Predator.  A bag is slung around the new Predator's belt.  Broken Tusk rips the bag from the new Predator's belt and dumps its contents onto the floor.  Nothing but a handful of human skulls falls out.  One of them has a hole through the temple, almost like a third eye socket.  A couple of them have fragmented.  One is the skull of a child.  Broken Tusk growls and begins attacking the new Predator again.  Noguchi grabs Miriam.



	Noguchi "C'mon, Miriam!  While these two decide who's the most macho, we've got work to do!"



[MEDICAL - REMAINS OF DOOR EXTERIOR]



Noguchi and Miriam step out through the hole where the front door once was.  Both of them easily step through the hole together.



	Noguchi "The hover bike it totaled."



Noguchi steps into the street and looks around for an idea.  She spies a ladder across the street.  The ladder leads to the rooftop.



	Noguchi "We'll have to take the coptor."



[ROOFTOP ACROSS THE STREET FROM MEDICAL - HELECOPTOR PAD]



Noguchi and Miriam open the doors to the cockpit of the helicopter.



	Noguchi "I don't suppose you're checked out in a coptor?"



Miriam shakes her head.



	Noguchi and Miriam (in unison) "I always relied on Kesar..."



	Noguchi "Me neither.  This should be interesting."



	Noguchi (into headset) "This is Noguchi in Coptor-1.  Do you read me, ops?  What's the situation there?"



[OPERATIONS ROOM]



	Weaver (into headset) "I read you, Coptor-1.  We're almost ready, but you should see what's happening in the southwest quadrant..."



[HEADQUARTERS BUILDING EXTERIOR - SOUTHWEST QUADRANT - LOOKING TOWARDS HOLDING PENS]



Rhynth can be seen pushing and shifting uneasily.  Scott and Tom are hiding behind a drainage pipe.  Their faces are ashen.  Their jaws are open.



	Weaver (offscreen) "...it looks like all-out war!"



	Scott "Aw, Christ!  We were better off in the ship!"



[SOUTHWEST QUADRANT - LOOKING TOWARDS HEADQUARTERS BUILDING]



Tom and Scott shudder on the left side of the view.  A dozen Predators are in full combat with several dozen Aliens.  Some of the lights are out.  Some of the action is better in the dark, unseen.



	Tom (whispering) "Oh......my......God..."



[HELECOPTOR PAD]



The two fans begin to spin, and Coptor-1 lifts unsteadily off the pad.



	Noguchi (over radio) "Sounds even better than I'd hoped for Weaver!  Stand by for my signal!"  (To Miriam) "Hang on Miriam!"



	Miriam (inside Coptor-1) "Where are we going?"



	Noguchi (inside Coptor-1) "The holding pens."



[MEDICAL - REMAINS OF DOOR EXTERIOR]



Broken Tusk steps out through the door.  He sees Prosperity Wells for the first time.  The streets are deserted.  Nearly every window is broken.  Trash blows across the street.  The Predator realizes what has happened.  He is not happy at what his men have done.  He walks down the street, towards the sounds of battle.  He is almost even with the communications tower, he stops at a new sound.  A low rumble can be heard over the battle din.  Broken Tusk turns around, trying to pick up the direction of the source of the new sound.  Most of the lights in the streets are out, and visibility in the dark is only a dozen or so meters.  The rumble becomes louder.



[COPTOR 1 COCKPIT - VIEW OF GROUND BELOW]



Coptor-1 lights show thousands of rhynth, shoulder to shoulder, spanning the street.  The stampede can be heard inside the vehicle, over the sound of the twin turbine engines.



[COMMUNICATIONS TOWER - STREET LEVEL]



Broken Tusk can see a dust cloud advancing down the street.  The rumble begins to catch the attention of other Predators caught in the battle.  Uneasy, Broken Tusk looks at the communications tower, and walks towards it.



[COPTOR 1 COCKPIT - VIEW OF GROUND BELOW]



Coptor-1 is gaining on the forward part of the stampede.  The communications tower can be seen ahead.



[COMMUNICATIONS TOWER - BASE]



Broken Tusk jumps onto the ladder and begins to climb.  The height affords a slightly better view of the approaching stampede.  Broken Tusk pauses to look at the approaching rhynth for a moment, and begins to climb faster.



[COPTOR 1 COCKPIT - VIEW OF GROUND BELOW]



Predators and Aliens can be seen in front of the stampede.  They stop their battle and begin to scatter, far too late.  The stampede washes over the battle site like a flash-flood.   The front wave of the stampede passes the side of the headquarters building, continuing into the open courtyard, towards the Lector.  Noguchi climbs and sweeps Coptor-1 over the headquarters building to get a view of the other side.  A number of vehicles, lights on, loaded with ranchers and staff, can be seen near the east lock.



[HEADQUARTERS BUILDING - OUTSIDE OF EAST LOCK]



The first few vehicles are already moving out.  Hover bikes, mostly loaded with two or three people, slowly accelerate between the larger trucks.  The east lock wall begins to get darker as more headlights move away.



[OUTSIDE OF EAST LOCK - ONE OF THE LARGER TRUCKS]



Ackland, Roth, Weaver, Ikeda, and many others are standing in the large truck bed.  There is no room for anyone to sit.  Even at this distance, the truck shakes with the rumbling of the stampede.



	Ackland "Hear that?  Our rhynth!  That's a year's work!  It's going down the toilet!"



Weaver looks angrily at Ackland.



	Weaver "Wrong, Ackland!  That's the sound of your ass being pulled out of here!"



Ikeda recognizes a sound over the rumble, and searches the sky.  Her answer shines a spotlight on the truck for a moment.



	Ikeda "The coptor!  That can't be Machiko!"

	Ikeda (offscreen) "She's not licensed to fly!"



Noguchi, satisfied that the vehicles are underway, begins another turn.



	Noguchi "Hang on, Miriam.  I'm going to make another pass!"

As Coptor-1 swings around, several structures can be recognized passing by outside.  The Lector, still sitting on the pad.  The open courtyard, full of rhynth.  Some of the rhynth are smashing up against the blast walls of the Lector landing pad.  Most of the stampede has made the turn into the exercise fields.  A shopping center wall disintegrates from the pressure of the rhynth running along it.  Noguchi tightens the turn to miss the communications tower.  Mrs. Dr. Revna suddenly points at the tower.



	Mrs. Dr. Revna "Machiko, _look_!"



[COMMUNICATIONS TOWER - A FEW METERS BELOW THE TOP PLATFORM]



Broken Tusk is still climbing.  Several Aliens can be seen climbing beneath him.  As one catches up with him, he kicks it hard enough to send it falling back into the stampede.  He is running out of tower to climb.



	Mrs. Dr. Revna (offscreen) "We must save him!"

	Noguchi "Are you crazy?  Miriam, those things are the reason we're in this mess!"



	Miriam "But that one risked his life to save mine!"



Noguchi stares at Miriam and thins her lips.



	Miriam "_Please_, Machiko!"
